My name is Johnny Oskam

This website was originally designed to propel my career as a blues/rock solo artist back when I was in my early 20s. Life happens. Circumstances change, and dreams and goals shift to other things. Despite more or less abandoning that endeavor many years ago, it felt weird to abandon this website, which bears my full name. So.. in honor of the music I created at that time, and to serve as a place holder until I figure out what else I can do with this website, here it is!

Embedded within the pages of this website are links to listen to some of the music I released under my name as a solo artist. To me they are snapshots of where I was at the time that I made them. When I listen to them I can hear all the ways I’ve gotten better over the years, but despite my youth and inexperience, I think these records are great, and I am quite proud of them. Enjoy.

In more recent years I have done quite a bit, and I do quite a lot in the music industry. I front a newer band called Systerian (links to that website are above). Systerian is a hard rock band with influences from the grunge era as well as bands from the early 2000s. It’s different than the blues stuff, but it still kicks ass.

I also do many other things, including directing worship at a church, owning a recording studio and owning a music school for kids in the south orange county area.
